Diversity is key to a thriving work environment
In honor of this month’s Female Visibility Month, we would like to present some of the actions Fagron is taking towards Diversity and Inclusion. We strongly believe that people with different backgrounds and ideas contribute to better decision-making, so Gender Equality and Nationality & Ethnicity are two important topics for the Fagron Group.
Fagron Diversity & Inclusion Survey
We continuously work on creating a safe working environment where every employee feels welcome. Beginning 2021, we conducted our first Fagron Diversity & Inclusion survey among employees. The survey was completed by 1100 employees across the globe and focused on subjects such as discrimination and involvement in decision-making.
According to the survey, the majority believe they can be themselves regardless of their background. Many employees also think that management could do a better job at emphasizing the importance of diversity and inclusion. This result led us to form a Diversity & Inclusion soundboard: a group of people from different backgrounds and countries that come together to discuss ideas and actions that can be taken to contribute to promoting diversity.
Gender equality
The majority of Fagron employees (53.1% in 2021) is female, but there is still room for improvement when it comes to female presence at all levels of the organization. To reach equal distribution of gender, we decided to set a target for male-female distribution in management.
By the end of 2025, we aim for:
- 50/50 male-female distribution in all management
- 1/3rd of the senior management is female
In 2021, women made up 40.7% of all management, meaning that there is work to be done to reach this target. The goal to have women make up for one-third of senior management has been achieved in 2021 (making up 34.1%).
We have started working on a female coaching program that will launch end of March 2022. This coaching program aims to promote gender equality at the management level to give ambitious women the chance to be linked to a woman in a (senior) management position. This way, we hope to encourage women’s career advancement.

Nationality & Ethnicity
Fagron has facilities in 19 different countries and hires employees based on their skills, regardless of nationality or ethnicity. It is necessary to reflect the diversity of the Fagron Group at the headquarters, and our target is to have at least 10 different nationalities present. In 2021, there were 18 nationalities working at the headquarters. This means we have exceeded our goal! In 2022, we hope to increase further the number of nationalities working at our company to reflect the diverse locations all over the world where we operate.
